"Bulbs and tubers didn’t really impress me"
I ordered a handful of bulbs and tubers from gurneys.com this spring, and I was sure they’d be better than what showed up. A few looked kind of dried out right away, and a couple had soft spots that didn’t seem like a great sign.
I went ahead and planted them all anyway, just to give them a fair chance, but only about half actually came up. The ones that did sprout are growing, but they look weak so far, so I’m not feeling too excited about them.
The shipping itself was fine and the box wasn’t beat up or anything, so I don’t think that was the problem. It just feels like the quality wasn’t really there for the price, and I probably wouldn’t order bulbs from them again.

"Not as many sprouted as I hoped"
The seeds did come up, but only about half of them sprouted, which was disappointing. I was expecting better results and it kind of felt like a bit of a letdown.

"Pretty close to the catalog"
The plants looked pretty much like they did in the catalog, which was a relief. One of the colors was a little different than I expected, but it wasn’t a big deal and it still looked nice. Overall, I’m happy with what I got.

Ordering was simple overall, but the checkout page felt a little slow for me. I ended up double-checking my cart a couple times just to make sure everything was still right. It did go through fine in the end, but I can see other customers maybe getting a bit unsure during that step too.

I ordered from gurneys.com because their prices were looking way better than a bunch of other places I checked, and I’m so glad I did. For what I paid, I was kind of shocked in the best way. Nothing felt ridiculously overpriced, and the quality was actually better than I expected. Even the shipping didn’t make me want to scream, which is always a win. If they keep the prices like this, I’d absolutely order from them again.

I was really happy to find heirloom tomatoes and some unusual peppers I couldn’t get anywhere locally. Planted them not long after they arrived, and everything sprouted really well, no complaints at all!

Most of the bare roots did end up sprouting, but one looked weak from the start. it feels like this could’ve been avoided if they’d packed or checked them better before shipping.

The plants arrived really healthy and looked good right out of the box. I always check the little things first, leaf edges, soil moisture, any bent stems, and everything was in surprisingly nice shape. Even the packaging held them snug without smashing the leaves.

I’ve ordered from Gurney’s a couple of times now, and to be fair, my experience has been mostly positive. The shipping wasn’t the fastest, so I can see why some people might get a little impatient, but my plants showed up in decent shape and looked healthy enough once they arrived. I also reached out to customer service with a question, and they did get back to me with a helpful answer. I wouldn’t say everything was perfect, but I do think they seem like a trustworthy company overall. I’d order from them again, especially if I wasn’t in a huge rush.

"Packet felt a little light"
The seeds arrived quickly, which was nice. They sprouted okay too, so no real issue there. But this is where it got annoying: the packet had less in it than I expected. I just wish the amount had been made clearer before I bought it.

"They seem to time it for your growing season"
I ordered a few things from Gurney's, and instead of just dumping everything in one shipment, they sent each item when it actually made sense for the season. My spring plants showed up when it was finally safe to plant in my area, and the fall items came later, just like I figured they would. Reading between the lines, they’re not just shipping by order date, they’re paying attention to when the plants have the best chance. It made the whole process a lot easier since I didn’t have to guess on timing or keep plants sitting around

"Took forever to get a reply"
I ordered a few plants and just wanted to check on the shipping date, but getting ahold of someone was way slower than I expected. I emailed twice and didn’t hear back until days later, and the reply was basic so it didn’t really answer much. The plants did show up in the end, so it wasn’t a total disaster, but the customer service felt kinda hard to reach tbh

"Would Order Again for Zone-Friendly Picks"
I’d definitely order again. I’m in zone 6, and I really liked that Gurney’s made the growing zones easy to see while I was picking plants. Everything I chose actually seemed like it fit my area, which made the process a lot less of a guessing game. Shipping was totally fine, and so far, everything is growing well.

"Perennials Came Back Strong"
I ordered a mix of perennials from Gurney's last spring, i wasn’t sure what to expect after our winter. I was really happy to see that almost everything came back this year, including a couple plants I was sure were done for. Only one didn’t make it, which is actually a win in my yard. The plants were clearly healthy and well worth trying. I’d definitely feel confident ordering from Gurney’s again.

I might be a little too picky when it comes to plants, but I was surprised by how many options they had here. The variety was great, and I found myself looking around way longer than I expected.

"Surprisingly decent order updates"
I wasn’t really expecting much, but they did keep me posted about my order. The updates were clear enough, I guess, and I didn’t have to chase them down for info, which was nice.
